About Me

My name is Gene Chaban, I’m a sound designer and field recordist originally from Ukraine.

I came into audio as many people do - through playing guitar in high school. In 2012 I graduated from Brooklyn College with a BS in Psychology, but instead of doing statistical analysis I opted for gigging and recording with various NYC bands. In 2017 I decided to embark on another adventure and enrolled into the Berklee College of Music to study audio engineering. During my freshman year I came across a student led sound design club which piqued my interest in sound for games and animation. In 2021 I graduated from the Electronic Production and Design major, with a minor in Sound Design for Video Games.

In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my cat, hiking, making music and cooking!
